Permanent Modular School
Action for Boston Community Development Center (ABCD) had outgrown their space and could no longer accommodate the number of children entered into their programs. They were also struggling to find space to manage their expanded programs for adults and people with disabilities. In addition, their existing building no longer met the building codes, and renovations would not be cost-effective. The center decided to construct a new building that would fit nicely into their neighborhood surroundings.
ModSpace worked with the program directors to develop a permanent modular school that addressed their current and future needs. The two-story facility was designed in the architectural style of the surrounding homes. The new design allowed ABCD to accommodate both children and elders with physical handicaps while providing the staff and students a fun and safe environment in which to learn and interact.
