Without a diagnostic imaging center of their own, Hammond-Henry Hospital was forced to lease a mobile facility from a third-party provider at a significant cost. As a result, the hospital was losing revenue and patients every month between expensive lease payments and patients turning to other hospitals with more patient-friendly, large-bore MRI systems.
Hammond Henry administrators realized that offering scans from an in-house large-bore MRI system would enable them to generate new revenue and a quick return on their investment. Already challenged for space, Hammond Henry opted to accelerate their timeline by housing their new diagnostic imaging equipment in a built-to-match permanent modular addition to their existing facility.
MedBuild, the dedicated healthcare division of ModSpace, provided a modular diagnostic imaging center that allowed Hammond Henry to improve patient care and generate new revenue quickly.
Working with Toshiba Medical Systems, the hospital’s chosen MRI supplier, MedBuild developed a coordinated solution that provides patients and staff with an optimal imaging environment that will serve the hospital for years to come.
Below grade utilities limited space narrowed the hospital’s placement options. The MedBuild construction services team advised hospital officials who revised their original plan with a new building location that promotes quality patient care, while supporting hospital operations and a tight budget.
MedBuild cost-effectively altered the original design to provide the radiology department with additional administrative space. By going with a modular connection room instead of a site-built connection link, the hospital gained valuable space for the radiology department to use for administrative and support services.
