Temporary Modular Complex

SITUATION

Solix Biofuels is a cutting-edge technology company that works with Colorado State University to develop the science of converting algae to conventional fuel. With 12 employees working out of a 10-foot-wide construction office, Solix needed to quickly expand their office. The new office also needed to connect directly to the existing steel building of their engineering facility to allow workers to easily move between buildings.

SOLUTION

ModSpace brought in an E-plex temporary modular complex to serve as the new Solix office. Two of the nine new modules were specifically modified to connect to the existing facility. A commercial door was added to give employees convenient access to the building from the office complex.

"A modular building gave us a lot of flexibility because we could keep it close to our experimental area where we do all our work," said Chris Macbeth, project manager for Solix Biofuels. "We went with ModSpace because it was much more economically feasible. It gave us the flexibility to get the space we needed without being offsite. In comparison to offsite office space this was much more economical."
