IBM
needed to expand its office space to deal with additional
staff and the movement of certain corporate functions
to a more central location.
Modspace was able to provide IBM with the additional office space required with a two-story facility that could house their people and equipment in a building that could serve as either a temporary or a permanent facility, and that would blend in with their existing office buildings.
The two-story facility, which would house the research offices, contained 9’ ceiling heights, elevators, raised computer floors to accommodate the weight and sensitivity of the computers, as well as a Liebert cooling system. The exterior of the building was designed to match the existing buildings on IBM’s campus, including roof detail, windows, and color.
