The San Diego Armed Services YMCA, (SDASY) is a non-profit organization that provides support for military personnel and their families. They contacted ModSpace because they had been searching for an office solution for their staff of 14.

The customer was first concerned about moving into "just a trailer," but in the end, realized that they got much more. Along with the YMCA team, ModSpace built in all of the features the customer wanted and needed for an upscale office.

One of the keys to the project's success was listening to the organization's staff functions and the desired design for flow of traffic in the structure. The ModSpace team was also able to offer exterior finishes that matched the site by contacting the architect for the adjacent property.

With these requirements, ModSpace was able to design a two building structure, complete with matching exterior - matching siding to stucco and a metal clad roof which required a new engineering design for the roof.

Upgrades included a nine-foot 2 x 2 reveal edge ceiling, a full laminate finish of all cabinets, custom designed reception and mail room areas, a custom awning with the ASYMCA logo silk-screened onto the main entry, and even GE water filters.

SDASY is now headquartered in two buildings (one 24x120, the other 14x60) adjoined by an 1100 square foot deck and ramp made of TREX.

SDASY Executive Director Mike Reber wrote, "Invariably the people that come to our facility are surprised at the Quality and substantial nature of the building. We are more pleased with our new building and ModSpace every day."

And, according to Mike, many people have said, "It's not a trailer, it's a real building."
